Orlando Felon Faces Multiple Charges After Fleeing Traffic Stop and Foot Pursuit

On January 8, 2025, a traffic stop in Orlando quickly escalated into a tense pursuit, resulting in multiple charges for 36-year-old Shani Love.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., Orlando Police officers observed a traffic violation near Cassius Street and Aaron Avenue. They initiated a stop near the intersection of Kirkland Boulevard and Patterson Avenue. However, Love sped off, evading the officers.

Shortly after, police located Love’s abandoned vehicle in the 2200 block of Willie Mays Parkway. A perimeter was established, and the Orlando Police Department, along with an OPD K9 unit and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Chase helicopter, assisted in the search. During the search, officers found a gun and Love’s shoes near the scene.

A report from OCSO Chase indicated a suspect hopping fences near Cepeda Street and Ivey Lane. Officers quickly gave chase and apprehended Love after a short foot pursuit.

It was discovered that Love, a convicted felon, had a firearm in his possession that had been reported lost out of Polk County. He now faces a long list of charges, including Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon, Fleeing/Eluding with Lights Activated, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Resisting Arrest without Violence, and Hit and Run with Property Damage.
