Tampa Man Arrested in Lake City for Online Child Exploitation

The Lake City Police Department, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) detectives, have arrested Anthony Michael Burgos, 30, of Tampa, Florida, on charges related to online child exploitation.

The investigation began on December 20, 2024, when detectives with the Lake City Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division initiated a probe into Burgos for suspected internet crimes against children. During the investigation, Burgos engaged in inappropriate online conversations with an individual he believed to be a 14-year-old male from Lake City, Florida. Throughout these conversations, he sent explicit and pornographic material of himself to the individual he believed to be a minor.

Detectives executed a search warrant on Burgos’ social media accounts and discovered additional evidence linking him to similar actions involving other individuals he believed to be minors.
Detectives then traveled to Tampa, Florida, where they with the assistance of the Tampa Police Department, served an arrest warrant on Burgos. He was subsequently extradited to Columbia County to face criminal charges. His bond has been set at $150,000.
