On Wednesday, February 5, agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Special Operations Team (SOT) executed a joint operation targeting fentanyl and firearm traffickers in the Florida Panhandle.
During the operation, the suspect attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by FDLE agents. Authorities confirmed that the operation was part of the State Assistance for Fentanyl Eradication (SAFE) program, which is aimed at combating drug trafficking across Florida.
The FDLE conducted the bust in coordination with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office and the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation remains ongoing.
