Three Plead Guilty in Bainbridge Apartment Complex Murder

Three suspects have pleaded guilty to charges stemming from the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Oharra Reggynaulde Thomas III at a Bainbridge apartment complex last year.

The shooting occurred on February 25, 2024, in the 1400 block of Avenue A. Bainbridge Public Safety requested the assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) after Thomas was found shot multiple times.

Investigators identified three suspects: Anthony Tyrome Chandler, 26, Angela Balogun, 44, and Brianna Chandler, 24. According to law enforcement, the incident began with an argument over a cell phone between Thomas and his girlfriend. The dispute escalated, involving her sister, Brianna Chandler; her brother, Anthony Chandler; and her mother, Angela Balogun. Authorities say Anthony Chandler then shot Thomas multiple times, resulting in his death.

The suspects were set to go to trial on Monday, but all three pleaded guilty in a Decatur County courtroom last Tuesday, according to District Attorney Joe Mulholland.
