In a significant legal development, Ryan Nobles, 46, and Nicole Anderson, 39, former owners of M&L Cabinets in Bradenton, Florida, have been convicted on multiple felony charges related to a fraudulent scheme involving the misapplication of construction funds and defrauding customers.
Nobles was convicted of misapplication of construction funds exceeding $100,000, a first-degree felony. He received a sentence of 30 months in the Department of Corrections, followed by 27 years of probation. Additionally, Nobles is required to pay restitution, with the exact amount to be determined in a future court proceeding.
Anderson pleaded guilty to felony scheming to defraud in excess of $50,000. She was sentenced to 21 months in the Department of Corrections and 20 years of probation. Anderson is also ordered to pay $88,507 in restitution.
The charges stem from a series of customer complaints received in February 2023, alleging that M&L Cabinets accepted substantial down payments for kitchen renovations that were neither initiated nor completed. Investigations revealed that nearly two dozen customers had made payments ranging from several thousand to tens of thousands of dollars for products and services that were not delivered. Furthermore, M&L Cabinets failed to pay for cabinets ordered and received from a supplier.
Financial records subpoenaed from August 2022 to January 2023 indicated that Nobles used his company credit card to charge approximately $220,000 at casinos in Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, and aboard cruise ships. During the same period, Anderson made purchases and ATM withdrawals totaling around $90,000 using her company credit card. Despite these expenditures, Nobles and Anderson continued to collect payments from clients.
