TAMPA, FL – A Tampa man with a history of violent offenses is facing up to 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition.
Brandon Palmore, 30, entered his guilty plea on Thursday, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Sara C. Sweeney. Palmore, a convicted felon, was found in possession of a loaded Sig Sauer handgun that had been reported stolen. Under federal law, he is prohibited from owning firearms.
Authorities arrested Palmore on December 1, 2023, while conducting surveillance at a Tampa apartment complex. As officers approached, he was seen reaching toward the center console and passenger-side floorboard of his vehicle, where the firearm was later discovered.
Palmore’s criminal record includes previous felony convictions for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and firing into a vehicle. In addition to a possible 15-year sentence, he has agreed to forfeit the firearm and ammunition. A sentencing date has not been scheduled.
The case was investigated by the FBI, ATF, and Tampa Police Department. Prosecutors said the case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a federal initiative aimed at reducing gun violence through coordinated law enforcement efforts and community engagement.
