JSO Takes Down Major Fentanyl Trafficker in Operation ‘Baked Beans’

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) Midlevel Narcotics Detectives successfully arrested 37-year-old Solomon “Bean” Roberts on March 14, 2025, in connection with a large-scale fentanyl trafficking operation. Roberts, a known drug dealer, had been under investigation for some time before the authorities executed a bust that netted nearly a pound of fentanyl—enough to potentially kill over 225,000 people.

Here’s what JSO seized during the operation:

  • 226,200 fatal doses (452.40 grams) of Fentanyl
  • 297.9 grams of Promethazine (sedative)
  • 15.3 grams of Crack Cocaine
  • 3.38 grams of Ecstasy
  • 0.4 grams of Cathinone (stimulant)
  • 351.3 grams of Marijuana
  • 1 rifle
  • $11,150 in cash

Roberts now faces five felony charges, including Trafficking in Fentanyl, and is currently being held at the Duval County Jail. JSO investigators worked closely with the State Attorney’s Office to ensure Roberts faces the full weight of the law.

JSO has vowed to continue targeting drug dealers to keep the community safe and has hinted that further arrests are expected in the case.
