Man Arrested for Attempted Murder After Intentionally Striking Woman with Vehicle in Homosassa

John Kazmier Kaminski, 46, has been arrested for attempted murder after intentionally striking a woman with his vehicle during a domestic dispute in Homosassa on Wednesday, April 2nd.

Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a domestic disturbance at a residence in Homosassa. The caller reported witnessing Kaminski and the female victim fighting in the yard, and then saw Kaminski enter a vehicle and intentionally strike the woman.

Upon arrival, deputies and Citrus County Fire Rescue (CCFR) found the female victim unconscious and struggling to breathe. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was airlifted to HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Detectives from CCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) initiated an investigation. Kaminski was detained at the scene and transported to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for questioning.

“This is a deeply disturbing and senseless act of violence. We are committed to working relentlessly with the Fifth Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office to ensure that Kaminski is held fully accountable for his actions,” said Sheriff David Vincent. “We are committed to seeking justice for the victim and ensuring that this individual faces the full weight of the law for this violent act.”

Based on witness statements and evidence collected at the scene, Kaminski was arrested for Attempted Murder. He is currently being held at the Citrus County Jail without bond, as per the bond schedule.
