Former Hillsborough Deputy, Now School Employee, Arrested in Road Rage Incident

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating and has arrested a former deputy, now employed by Hillsborough County Public Schools, following a road rage incident on Sunday, April 6, 2025.

According to authorities, the incident occurred around 12:45 p.m. as a victim and her two teenage children were traveling southbound on Bell Shoals Road and stopped at a red light at Fishhawk Boulevard. When the light turned green, the vehicle in front of them remained stationary, prompting the victim to honk her horn.

As both vehicles proceeded onto Fishhawk Boulevard, the passenger of the front vehicle began yelling at the victim. The situation escalated at the intersection of Fishhawk Boulevard and Mosaic Drive, where the passenger allegedly threw a bottle at the victim, striking her in the head and causing a raised contusion and an abrasion.

Following an investigation, the suspect was identified as 47-year-old Brandon Scott Parker, a former Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputy who served from 2003 to 2016 and is currently employed by Hillsborough County Public Schools.

Parker was arrested on Monday, April 7, 2025, and charged with Throwing a Deadly Missile at or Into an Occupied Conveyance.

Sheriff Chad Chronister condemned the alleged behavior, stating, “This type of violent behavior is absolutely unacceptable, especially from someone who once wore a badge. There is no excuse for escalating a traffic dispute into an act that caused injury to an innocent driver. No one is above the law, and we will hold individuals accountable for their actions, regardless of their past or current affiliations.”

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has stated that this is an active investigation and further details may be released as they become available. Hillsborough County Public Schools has reportedly placed Parker on administrative leave pending board action.
