Woman Arrested for Attempted Murder After Intentionally Running Over Estranged Husband’s Companion

A 41-year-old Auburndale woman on probation was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and charged with attempted murder and other offenses after allegedly intentionally running over another woman with her car. The incident occurred after the suspect saw the victim walking with the suspect’s estranged husband.

On April 10, 2025, PCSO detectives obtained a warrant for Christdon Reese, charging her with Attempted First Degree Murder (F1), Trespassing (M1), and Violation of Probation (M2). Detectives located and apprehended Reese the following morning, April 11th, on Tower Manor Circle East, and she was subsequently booked into the Polk County Jail.

The investigation revealed that on April 10, 2025, the victim was walking with her boyfriend (Reese’s estranged husband) after leaving a Circle K store at 4950 U.S. Hwy 92 East in Auburndale. As they crossed Old Dixie Hwy, the boyfriend noticed Reese driving past them in her white Volkswagen Jetta. According to the investigation, Reese then used a nearby Family Dollar parking lot to make a U-turn, accelerated rapidly towards the couple, and pursued the victim as she ran up a driveway, ultimately striking her with her car. Reese then allegedly reversed in the driveway and fled north on Old Dixie Hwy at a high speed.

Surveillance footage from the Circle K reportedly captured Reese making the U-turn and heading back in the direction of the victim.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with two spinal fractures but is expected to recover. The resident of the property where the incident occurred informed deputies that Reese did not have permission to be there, leading to the trespassing charge.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd commented, “Domestic related calls are some of the worst calls to which we respond. When people allow their emotions to take over it can result in injury or even death. This victim was injured but luckily she survived the ordeal. Christdon Reese needs to learn how to control her temper, and maybe some cooling off in the jail will help.”

Deputies also discovered that Reese has been on probation for a retail theft charge in Osceola County since 2023, leading to the additional charge of violation of probation.
