On Monday, April 21, 2025, a teacher at Leon High School confronted a 10th-grade student for drinking a beverage and using a phone during class, both violations of school policy.
The student was subsequently arrested and charged with Battery on a School Official. He was transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center for processing.
School officials confirmed that the student will also face disciplinary action under the Leon County Schools Student Code of Conduct.
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office issued a reminder to parents and guardians about the importance of discussing school behavior expectations and the serious consequences of misconduct.
