Kissimmee Man Arrested for Second-Degree Murder Following Fatal Shooting

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Jovaniel Lopez in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Wednesday, May 15, 2025, at 820 Cypress Parkway in Kissimmee, Florida.

Deputies responded to reports of a shooting at the location and found the victim, 35-year-old Micah Gabriel Mebane, who was transported to a hospital with a gunshot wound but later pronounced dead.

The subsequent investigation revealed that Mebane and Lopez had been involved in a verbal altercation, during which Lopez shot Mebane.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit obtained an arrest warrant for Jovaniel Lopez on the same day, charging him with second-degree murder. Lopez was apprehended and booked into the Osceola County Jail.
