Leesburg Man Arrested by FDLE for Child Sexual Abuse Material

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has arrested William Edward Gamble, 52, of Leesburg, on multiple felony charges related to child sexual abuse material. Gamble faces two counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and two counts of promotion of sexual performance by a child.

The arrest is part of FDLE’s ongoing statewide initiative targeting individuals who exploit children and share digital files depicting their sexual abuse.

FDLE’s investigation commenced in November 2024 following a cybertip received from the National Center for Missing and Endangered Children (NCMEC). The tip identified a Kik account user involved in uploading and sharing child sexual abuse material. Agents traced the account user to Gamble and his Leesburg residence through the associated IP address.

Further investigation revealed that Gamble allegedly used his Kik account to share images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children in exchange for more of this illicit material.

On May 14, FDLE agents executed a search warrant at Gamble’s residence, seizing multiple electronic devices. A preliminary forensic analysis of these devices uncovered numerous child exploitation files involving pre-pubescent children, some as young as eight years old.

Gamble was arrested at his home without incident and subsequently booked into the Lake County Jail. He is currently being held without bond pending his first court appearance. The Office of Statewide Prosecution under Attorney General James Uthmeier is prosecuting the case.

FDLE has stated that their investigation remains active and ongoing.
