St. Petersburg Police have arrested 27-year-old Peter Guirguis and charged him with attempted first-degree homicide and aggravated stalking following a violent attack on his ex-girlfriend.
Detectives learned that on May 10th, at 1:43 a.m., Guirguis traveled to the victim’s home at 10600 4th St. North, Gateway Isles Apartments. He then attacked her in the parking lot, causing a serious head injury that required hospitalization.
Authorities noted that the couple had a history of domestic violence, and the victim had an active injunction against Guirguis at the time of the attack.
Following the incident, detectives worked tirelessly to gather evidence. Last night, at 11:37 p.m., St. Petersburg detectives, with the assistance of the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, took Guirguis into custody at his residence in Trinity.
He will be transferred from the Pasco County Jail to the Pinellas County Jail to face the charges.
