Hillsborough County Assistant State Attorney Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

A Hillsborough County Assistant State Attorney, William Andrew Jones, 32, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of Transmission and Possession of Child Pornography, as well as Transmission of Material Harmful to a Minor.

The investigation by the Crimes Against Children Unit began on July 30, 2024, after detectives received information about child pornography files being accessed and shared online. Through their investigation, detectives identified Jones as the suspect.

According to authorities, the files involved juvenile females between the ages of 6 and 10 engaging in sexual acts. On May 28, 2025, detectives interviewed Jones, who admitted to viewing and transmitting the files. He was subsequently arrested and booked into the Orient Road Jail.

Jones has been employed by the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office since 2021, serving as an Assistant State Attorney within the Felony Bureau, Trial Division E. The investigation remains ongoing.
