On June 5, 2025, around 6:00 a.m., the Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a robbery involving a possible law enforcement impersonator on County Road 48 in Yalaha.

The victim told deputies that while driving to work around 5:00 a.m., he noticed a white sedan parked on the roadside. The vehicle pulled out behind him and activated flashing blue lights mounted inside, prompting the victim to pull over near County Road 48 and Lime Avenue. A black male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing dark clothing and a ski mask, reportedly exited the vehicle, approached the victim’s window, and held a handgun to his head. The suspect demanded money and the victim’s phone before fleeing toward Leesburg.

The shaken but uninjured victim drove to a convenience store to report the incident to a Lake County deputy.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a white, early 2000s model sedan with no unique markings. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the case.
