The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Division, with the assistance of GPD SWAT, executed a search warrant on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 371 NW 39th Road, leading to the arrest of Alexander Callison (W/M, born 06/06/1996).
The investigation was initiated after GPD received two CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), indicating that a Kik account holder had uploaded and shared multiple videos of child sexual abuse material.
Detective Montague’s further investigation identified Alexander Callison, residing at the listed address, as the likely account holder. During a post-Miranda interview, Callison initially denied ownership of the accounts and possession of abusive material. However, when confronted with his own self-produced graphic nude imagery, Callison admitted the videos were of him and stated he used Kik to connect with others due to loneliness. He then confessed to uploading and sharing the material through Kik, indicating this behavior began even before the initial CyberTip.
Callison reportedly told Detective Montague that he knew his actions were wrong, lived with the guilt, and was not surprised by law enforcement contact.
All of Callison’s electronic devices were seized, and a complete forensic analysis is pending. Based on evidence found in his Kik account, Callison was arrested and charged with:
- Two counts of Possession of Child Pornography
- Two counts of Distribution of Child Pornography
- 15 counts of Transmission of Material Harmful to Minors
- 16 counts of Seduce, solicit, lure, or entice a child
The Gainesville Police Department is urging parents to be aware of the dangers of online solicitation and exploitation through social networking and messaging apps. They encourage age-appropriate conversations with children about internet safety and vigilance regarding their children’s online platforms.
