Nearly 7,000 Lethal Fentanyl Doses Seized Near Jacksonville Church and School

Two people are in custody after Jacksonville authorities seized large quantities of drugs, firearms, and cash from a business located near a church and across from a middle school on North Main Street.

Following a tip that drug dealers were operating out of the business, narcotics detectives built a case and obtained a search warrant last month. With assistance from the District 6 Task Force and K9 Unit, detectives searched the property and recovered:

  • 13.9 grams of fentanyl, enough to potentially kill nearly 7,000 people
  • 16.1 grams of powder cocaine
  • 4.6 grams of crack cocaine
  • 1.9 grams of oxycodone
  • 347.7 grams of marijuana
  • 2 firearms, one of which had been reported lost
  • $2,966 in cash
  • One gold chain

Police arrested 35-year-old Eyob Woldetensay and 51-year-old Adriann Hendon. Both are being held in jail on felony charges, including possession of illegal drugs with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a place of worship.

Authorities say the operation’s shutdown improves safety for the Jacksonville community. The investigation remains ongoing.
