Jacksonville police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the driver of a white mid-size SUV believed to be involved in a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of 40-year-old Brandon Venegas on Monday, May 26, 2025.
Just before midnight, officers discovered Venegas’s body in an alley behind a business on Merrill Road near Townsend Boulevard. Investigations quickly determined he had been run over by a vehicle.
Surveillance footage from the area shows a white mid-size SUV, similar to the one pictured below, which authorities believe is the vehicle that struck Venegas.
