Palm Coast Man Arrested for Stealing Thousands from Deceased Mother’s Estate

Thomas Frazzetto, 56, of Palm Coast, was arrested on June 18 by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit on a felony warrant for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from his late mother’s estate.

The investigation began on December 2, 2024, just two months after Frazzetto’s mother passed away, when detectives received a report of an attempted unauthorized check cashing for $51,200. Further investigation revealed that Frazzetto had allegedly forged his deceased mother’s signature on this check and three others, which he successfully cashed within days of her passing.

Detectives determined that Frazzetto had also made numerous other unauthorized transactions totaling over $9,000, including a $2,000 Zelle transfer the day before his mother’s death. A victim of the estate stated that Frazzetto’s mother would have been incapacitated and unable to make such a transfer at that time.

Frazzetto was arrested on a Flagler County warrant for grand theft and uttering forged instruments. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where he is being held on a $10,000 bond.

Authorities note that Frazzetto has a criminal history, including drug possession, selling a Schedule 1 drug, simple battery, and violation of probation.

Sheriff Rick Staly commented on the case: “Stealing from a deceased family member is not only disgraceful, but it’s also criminal. Our detectives did a great job building this case to ensure this ‘son of the year’ would be brought to justice.”
