On Saturday, July 5, 2025, at approximately 1:24 a.m., Lake City Police officers responded to a report of a person shot at 698 NW Mississippi Way.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male on the ground with two gunshot wounds to his lower body. Officers rendered aid until EMS arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital. A second gunshot victim later arrived at the hospital by private vehicle. That individual was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.
According to police, the second victim told detectives he had been attending a block party when gunfire erupted.
At the scene, officers located multiple spent shell casings of various calibers in the roadway and on private property. Three vehicles were found with apparent bullet damage. The scene was processed and evidence collected.
No suspects have been identified, and the Lake City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating.
