DAYTONA BEACH, FL – A physical altercation in Daytona Beach escalated into a shooting on Monday, July 21, resulting in two individuals being injured, one of whom was an uninvolved bystander. The suspect has been apprehended.
At approximately 10:27 p.m. on July 21, officers with the Daytona Beach Police Department responded to 402 Madison Avenue following a report of a physical altercation. While Volusia County dispatchers were still on the phone with the caller, the situation quickly escalated to a “person shot” call.
Officers already in the vicinity responded immediately. The caller provided a description of the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Nathan Joseph Lee, who was located and apprehended without incident.

One of the rounds fired reportedly penetrated the building’s wall and struck a second, uninvolved victim who was standing outside the business.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
