ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested Daniel Cuevas, 47, of Orlando, on one count of trafficking 28 grams or more of fentanyl.
The investigation began in July 2025 when FDLE Fort Myers agents received information that a high-level member of a Mexican cartel, later identified as Cuevas, was distributing large quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl in the Orlando area.
On Aug. 7, FDLE agents conducted a controlled operation and seized more than 4.4 pounds of fentanyl from Cuevas.
Cuevas was taken into custody by agents with the FDLE Special Operations Team and transported to the Orange County Jail.
Attorney General James Uthmeier’s Office of Statewide Prosecution is handling the case.
The investigation remains active.
