Romanian Illegal Aliens Arrested in St. Johns County After $13K Stolen in EBT Card Scheme

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Two Romanian nationals in the U.S. illegally were arrested in connection with a scheme involving stolen EBT cards used to purchase baby formula, energy drinks, and other goods totaling more than $13,000.

FDLE Jacksonville agents tracked the suspects and, with assistance from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, took them into custody. All stolen property was recovered.

Both suspects are being held on immigration detainers.
