CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — On August 22, 2025, at approximately 7:00 a.m., deputies responded to the 5600 block of Bee Hive Road after receiving a call that a neighbor was firing shots toward a residence.
When deputies arrived, they immediately took the suspect, Sherry Lynn Garrison, 54, into custody. Garrison resisted deputies and fought with them during her arrest.
The investigation determined the incident began with a dispute between neighbors over dogs. During the confrontation, Garrison pushed one of the victims before returning to her own yard. The victim then fired warning shots into the ground on his property to prevent Garrison from returning.
Garrison went into her home, retrieved a handgun, and came back outside. She fired multiple shots at the victim and another adult in the yard before shooting into the victim’s house, where another adult and six children were inside. No injuries were reported.
Garrison was interviewed and arrested on the following charges:
- Attempted Murder (2 counts)
- Shooting Into an Occupied Dwelling (1 count)
- Resisting Law Enforcement with Violence (1 count)
- Simple Battery (1 count)
