Largo Man Arrested on 15 Counts of Child Sexual Abuse Material Possession

LARGO, Fla.—The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has arrested Edmond Leger, 64, of Largo, on 15 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material. The arrest is part of an ongoing FDLE initiative to combat the creation and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

The investigation began in May when an FDLE agent identified a computer device that was making CSAM publicly available for download. Further investigation linked Leger to the device.

On September 4, FDLE agents executed a search warrant at Leger’s residence, seizing digital media. A forensic analysis of the devices revealed images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children, many of whom were prepubescent or infants.

Leger was arrested by FDLE agents and transported to the Pinellas County Jail by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. Homeland Security Investigations also assisted in the investigation.

The case will be prosecuted by the Office of Statewide Prosecution under Attorney General James Uthmeier. The investigation remains active.
