Orlando Police Arrest Two in Deadly Fentanyl Overdose Case

ORLANDO, FL – The Orlando Police Department has arrested two suspects connected to a fatal drug overdose that occurred in April 2023.

On September 3, 2025, detectives arrested Carlos Quinche for selling fentanyl and methamphetamine that led to the death of a 33-year-old man. A second suspect, Amber Zallenick, was arrested on August 27, 2025, just one day after she and Quinche were indicted by a Grand Jury.

Both Quinche and Zallenick face the following charges:

  • Death caused by the Unlawful Distribution of Fentanyl
  • Delivery of Fentanyl
  • Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device

The charges stem from an incident on April 21, 2023, at 2801 East Colonial Drive, where officers found the victim deceased. Investigators determined the man had believed he was purchasing $30 worth of cannabis and Percocets, but toxicology revealed his cause of death was fentanyl and methamphetamine intoxication.

During the course of the investigation, OPD’s Drug Enforcement Division seized additional drugs from Quinche that were unrelated to the victim’s death, including:

  • More than 69 grams of fentanyl
  • Two pills and six fragments of MDMA
  • Three bags of cocaine

Police say these arrests bring long-awaited justice to the victim’s family and highlight the department’s commitment to holding drug dealers accountable for deadly overdoses.
