JSO Seizes Over 14 Pounds of Flakka, Stolen Gun in Arlington Hills Drug Bust

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested a 43-year-old man and seized several pounds of illegal drugs and a stolen firearm following a narcotics investigation in the Arlington Hills neighborhood.

The investigation began after a resident reported suspicious activity on Townsend Village Lane. Detectives identified the suspect, Benjamin Crawford, as allegedly selling drugs from his home and vehicle. After gathering evidence, officers executed a search warrant on August 23.

Inside, they found a significant cache of narcotics, including 14.6 pounds of cathinones (known as Flakka), 148 grams of crack cocaine, 21.8 grams of powder cocaine, 34 prescription pills, 2 grams of marijuana, and a stolen firearm that had been reported missing nearly a decade ago.

Crawford now faces multiple felony charges related to the sale and possession of illegal drugs and possession of a stolen firearm.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office credited the arrest to community cooperation and emphasized their continued focus on targeting drug dealers. “If you sell drugs in Jacksonville, we will arrest you,” the department said, encouraging residents to report suspicious activity at 904-630-0500.
