12-Year-Old Arrested After Threats Found in Notebook at Palatka School

PALATKA, FL — Deputies arrested 12-year-old Isabella Galvin at Palatka Junior-Senior High School after a notebook containing written threats and a list of student names was discovered in a girls’ bathroom.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the notebook included a statement identifying Galvin as the owner. When questioned, she admitted the notebook was hers.

Galvin was charged with making a written threat to kill, a second-degree felony, and was taken to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office before being transferred to a Department of Juvenile Justice facility.

Under Florida law, law enforcement may release a juvenile’s name and photo if the alleged crime would be a felony offense for an adult. The sheriff’s office said this information was released due to the potential threat to students and schools, emphasizing the public’s right to be informed.

School administrators have contacted all parents and guardians of students whose names were listed in the notebook. The investigation remains ongoing.
