St. Lucie County Deputies Enforcing Nudity Rules Near Blind Creek Beach

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Florida – The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office is addressing a growing number of complaints about unauthorized nudity near the Little Mud Boat Ramp, north of the designated nude-optional area at Blind Creek Beach.

Officials say that while the ongoing Blind Creek Beach renovation has temporarily disrupted access for some beachgoers, it does not allow the use of nearby public spaces as extensions of the nude-optional beach. Some visitors have reportedly moved north of the permitted area, prompting concern from local residents and other visitors.

Since early September, deputies have increased their presence in the area through foot and ATV patrols, educating visitors about posted signs marking the approved nude-optional boundaries. Despite these efforts, several people were arrested and issued Notices to Appear on October 25, 2025, at the Little Mud Boat Ramp — about 1.1 miles north of the designated area. The individuals were charged with Indecent Exposure–Exposure of Sexual Organs.

The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that it will continue to address these issues through both education and enforcement. Deputies are also monitoring illegal parking along A1A, which poses safety risks to drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.

Authorities are reminding visitors to remain within the clearly marked nude-optional area and to cover up before entering parking lots or other public spaces.

Anyone who observes violations or unsafe behavior is encouraged to contact the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.

UPDATE: As part of continued enforcement efforts, deputies made two additional arrests this week for individuals found in violation of county ordinances regarding public nudity outside of the designated clothing-optional areas.

Deputies arrested Daphne Gay Duck, 62, and John Wayne Lorton, 66, both charged with Indecent Exposure.

Deputies will maintain increased patrols in this area to ensure compliance and to preserve the safety and comfort of all residents and visitors. The Sheriff’s Office reminds the public that clothing-optional activity is only permitted within clearly designated sections of Blind Creek Beach.
