Tallahassee Man Arrested by FDLE for October 21 Gretna Homicide

Tallahassee, FL — The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has arrested Jacquez Shakur Oneal, 22, of Tallahassee, in connection with a homicide in Gretna, Gadsden County, that occurred on October 21, 2025. Oneal faces one count of first-degree murder, a first-degree felony.

The incident began when the Gretna Police Department reported a shooting at a residence in Gretna. A vehicle parked in the front yard was fired upon, and the victim inside the vehicle suffered fatal gunshot wounds.

FDLE investigators determined that Oneal was the shooter, who fled the scene after the attack. He was taken into custody without incident on November 4, 2025, with assistance from the Gretna Police Department.

The case is being prosecuted by the State Attorney’s Office of the Second Judicial Circuit, and the investigation remains active.
