Earlier this month, law enforcement successfully located 22 missing children during Operation Home for the Holidays, an initiative led by the U.S. Marshals. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office teamed up with the Marshals, FBI, and other local agencies to track down and safely return the children.
Among the recoveries were two teenage girls who had been missing for weeks. Detectives were able to provide immediate support to ensure their safety and well-being.
The Jacksonville Police emphasize that their Missing Persons Unit works year-round to locate children, regardless of how long they’ve been missing. Authorities also remind the public that harboring runaways is a crime and urge anyone with information about a missing child’s whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately.
