Clay County Woman Arrested for Attempted Murder After Knife Attack on Daughter

Orange Park, FL – On Monday, November 17, 2025, Clay County deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 600 block of Reese Avenue in the Oakleaf area. The caller, later identified as the victim, reported a physical altercation at her home.

Investigators determined that the victim’s estranged biological mother, 62-year-old Serpil Adams, had arrived uninvited and attacked the victim with a serrated utility knife while the victim was home with her two young children. In an effort to protect her mother, the victim’s 8-year-old daughter intervened and used a kitchen knife to stab Adams in the upper arm.

Adams fled the residence in a vehicle but was later located by Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office deputies at a friend’s home in Jacksonville, where she was taken into custody without incident.

Neither the victim nor her children were injured during the incident. Adams has been charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder and is being held on a $500,003 bond.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
