HAMILTON COUNTY, FL — A Sunday night search warrant led to a significant drug and weapons seizure in the southeastern part of Hamilton County, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators with the HCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division, with the assistance of the Narcotics and Street Crimes Unit, searched a residence on December 7th and uncovered a sizable stash of illegal drugs and firearms. Deputies seized about 2.5 pounds of marijuana, 3 ounces of cocaine, 11 grams of methamphetamine, several controlled prescription pills, and multiple guns. One of those weapons was a short-barreled shotgun, which is prohibited under Florida law.
The investigation is still active, and officials say additional charges are possible as investigators continue to work the case.
Sheriff Brian S. Creech praised the team’s efforts, noting that deputies remain committed to cutting off the flow of drugs in the community. He added that residents may have noticed an uptick in recent enforcement actions, calling them part of the agency’s continued push to keep Hamilton County safe.
