Defendant: Angel Sexton

Palm Coast Woman Convicted of Sex Offense Against 13-Year-Old

BUNNELL, FL – A 27-year-old Palm Coast woman has been convicted for a sexual relationship with an underage victim following a year-long legal process. Angel Sexton pleaded guilty to Lewd or Lascivious Battery on December 17, 2025, in the 7th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida.

The conviction stems from a January 2025 arrest by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) after a delayed report of sexual misconduct involving Sexton and a 13-year-old child.

The Investigation

The case began on January 14, 2025, when deputies received a report of a sexual offense that occurred during the 2024 holiday season. Master Detective Darrell Butler of the FCSO Major Case Unit led the investigation, which uncovered:

  • Digital Evidence: Analysis of extensive text message conversations between Sexton and the victim showed Sexton used her relationship to groom and manipulate the minor.
  • Admissions: While Sexton initially denied any physical contact, she eventually confessed to investigators that she had engaged in kissing, attempted oral sex, and sexual intercourse with the child.
  • Post-Incident Conduct: After the victim returned home in January, Sexton continued to send messages, at one point claiming she intended to leave her husband for the 13-year-old.

Sexton was apprehended in St. Augustine on January 27, 2025, and has remained in the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility.

Terms of the Plea Agreement

As part of her guilty plea, Sexton is facing a significant multi-year sentence. The terms of the agreement include:

  • Prison Time: 6 years in a Florida state prison.
  • Supervision: 9 years of sex offender probation following her release.
  • Registration: Mandatory permanent registration as a Florida Sex Offender.

A Message from the Sheriff

Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly expressed relief at the conviction, praising the victim for having the courage to report the abuse.

“This woman took the innocence away for a child for her own gratification, and I am glad that justice was served and that she is headed to prison,” Sheriff Staly stated. “I commend the victim who put an end to her advances and spoke up.”

Sentencing Date

Angel Sexton is officially scheduled for sentencing on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. At that time, a judge will formally sign off on the prison term and the specific conditions of her sex offender probation.
