LAWTEY, Fla. – A Lawtey man was arrested Tuesday after an undercover narcotics investigation led authorities to execute a search warrant at his home, where detectives seized multiple illegal drugs, firearms, and cash, the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Investigators said the sheriff’s office narcotics unit received information that Cedric Carter was selling cocaine from his residence. Detectives conducted several undercover cocaine purchases at the home, which provided probable cause for an arrest warrant and a residential search warrant.
Early Tuesday morning, January 13th, detectives conducted a traffic stop on Carter and detained him. At the same time, narcotics investigators, assisted by the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office and Union County Sheriff’s Office joint SWAT team, served the search warrant at the Lawtey residence.
During the search, detectives seized cocaine, crack cocaine, MDMA pills, methamphetamine, and Suboxone pills, along with drug paraphernalia. Authorities also recovered two firearms, ammunition, and approximately $1,400 in U.S. currency.
Carter was arrested and booked into the Bradford County Jail on a long list of charges, including multiple counts of possession with intent to sell and sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a place of worship, use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony, and maintaining a public nuisance structure for drug activity.
Additional charges include multiple counts of possession of cocaine, possession of controlled substances including methamphetamine and Suboxone, and several counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a convicted felon.
The investigation remains ongoing.
