MARION COUNTY, Florida – A 37-year-old Silver Springs resident was arrested without bond following a months-long investigation into the sexual exploitation of a teenager, during which he allegedly sent explicit images and provided incentives for sexual activities. The arrest turned violent when the suspect reportedly fought officers and tried to grab a firearm.
On January 16, 2026, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies took 37-year-old Christopher Sherman David Mchellon into custody at his home on NE 55th Avenue in Ocala, FL (Fort King District). He now faces multiple felony charges: Human Trafficking for Commercial Sexual Activity, Transmission of Harmful Material to a Minor, Use of a Computer to Solicit a Child, Use of a 2-Way Communication Device to Facilitate a Felony, three counts of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest with Violence, and Resisting Arrest without Violence.
The investigation began in October 2025 when Major Crimes Detective Josue Rivera received a tip that Mchellon had sent explicit photos of his genitalia to a 15-year-old male victim. Detectives uncovered evidence that Mchellon allegedly gave the juvenile money, drugs, or alcohol in exchange for participating in sexual activities. A forensic examination of the victim’s electronic devices confirmed the presence of the graphic images sent by Mchellon, establishing probable cause for the charges.
When Deputies K. Walton and McEldowney arrived to arrest him, Mchellon reportedly resisted violently as Deputy McEldowney attempted to handcuff him. Deputy Walton deployed a taser, but it had no effect. During the altercation, Mchellon grabbed a black shotgun. K-9 Cpl. Demarco assisted, helping to disarm Mchellon and subdue him.
After being taken into custody, Mchellon allegedly made repeated statements expressing regret that he had not been able to shoot the deputies and wishing harm on their children.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims given the nature of Mchellon’s alleged contact with the juvenile. The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who may have been victimized by Mchellon or who has relevant information to contact Detective Rivera at 352-732-9111.
Mchellon was transported to the Marion County Jail, where he remains held without bond.
