Three Indicted in Gang-Related Killing of 20-Year-Old Found Shot in Vehicle in Kissimmee

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Three people have been indicted in the 2024 killing of a 20-year-old man who was found shot to death inside a vehicle in Kissimmee, following a months-long investigation by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded at about 2:45 a.m. on Nov. 15, 2024, to a reported traffic crash at the intersection of Greenup Street and Smith Street. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the body of a male driver inside a Range Rover suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide and forensic units with the sheriff’s office were immediately dispatched. Investigators processed the scene and collected evidence while the Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of the body. The victim was later identified as Kashorn Armand, 20. The Medical Examiner subsequently ruled the death a homicide.

Detectives determined the killing was not random and appeared to be a premeditated act tied to organized gang activity. Due to the complexity of the case, investigators worked closely with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement crime laboratory and forensic division to analyze evidence.

Over the course of several months, detectives identified three primary suspects: Ta’Shard Smith, 18, Sincere McKenzie, 18, and Cornelius Walls, 21. Smith and McKenzie were juveniles at the time of the homicide. Investigators said their involvement pointed to a broader criminal conspiracy.

The case was presented to assistant state attorneys and later brought before a grand jury. In January 2026, the State Attorney’s Office secured indictments against all three suspects on homicide charges with gang enhancements, and arrest warrants were issued.

With assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service, Smith was located and arrested on Feb. 3, 2026, and booked into the Osceola County Jail. Walls and McKenzie were already in custody at separate state correctional facilities and were served their homicide warrants.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation underscores the continued challenge of addressing gang-related violence and emphasized the role of community cooperation in solving violent crimes. Anyone with information related to this case or other unrelated homicides in the area is urged to contact the sheriff’s office at 407-348-2222.
