Leon County Man Arrested After Firing at Delivery Driver in Tallahassee Neighborhood

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A 21-year-old man was arrested after deputies say he fired multiple rounds at a woman delivering items in a Tallahassee neighborhood Friday night.

According to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 8 p.m. on February 6 to reports of an aggravated assault involving a firearm in the 3200 block of Ridgeland Court in the Linene Woods area.

Investigators determined the victim, a delivery driver, had pulled into a residential driveway while making a routine drop due to low lighting in the area. As she was leaving, the homeowner, identified as 21-year-old Aaron Harwell, allegedly approached her vehicle with a firearm and pointed it at her.

Surveillance footage reviewed by detectives showed that as the driver drove away, Harwell fired multiple rounds at the vehicle. Several bullets struck the car, but the driver was not injured.

Harwell was taken into custody and booked into the Leon County Detention Facility. He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (firearm).

The Leon County Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents to handle firearms responsibly.
