CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. — Three people were arrested after Citrus County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a narcotics search warrant at a residence in Inverness earlier this month.
According to the sheriff’s office, members of the Special Investigations Unit executed the search warrant on March 6, 2026, at a home located on the 8600 block of East Sandpiper Drive in Inverness, FL.
As the deputies drove up to the property, they spotted a vehicle leaving the property. They conducted a traffic stop and during the stop, the passenger exited the vehicle and fled on foot as deputies attempted to detain him. After a brief pursuit, he was taken into custody and identified as 39-year-old Shawn Gregory Sellers.
Deputies searched Sellers’ backpack and located approximately 21.1 grams of methamphetamine, 1.94 grams of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia consistent with narcotics sales.
While detectives executed the search warrant at the residence, two occupants were located inside and detained. The two were identified as 66-year-old Jeffrey Scott Hunter and 33-year-old Darra Ann Deshea Lee.
Investigators said the search of the home uncovered additional narcotics and drug distribution materials, including 1.8 grams of fentanyl, 13.2 grams of methamphetamine, PCP, scales with fentanyl residue and other paraphernalia commonly associated with drug sales.
Captain Mat Baird of the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division said the operation helped prevent dangerous drugs from reaching the community.
“The quick action of the Special Investigations Unit stopped these drugs before they could spread any further into our community,” Baird said. “This kind of work is what keeps dangerous substances off our streets, and the SIU will continue to focus on anyone who chooses to bring these drugs into Citrus County.”
Sellers was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine between 14 and 28 grams, possession of fentanyl, resisting without violence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hunter was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of fentanyl with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance (acid) and possession of paraphernalia.
Lee faces charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of fentanyl with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance (acid), possession of paraphernalia and resisting without violence.
