Police, Fire Escort Gives 5-Year-Old Battling Brain Tumor a Dream Ride in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A five-year-old boy fighting an aggressive brain tumor got a day to remember thanks to a special surprise organized by local first responders and a nonprofit.

Liam Tuten, who has been in Jacksonville since September undergoing treatment, recently completed his third bone marrow transplant. After months spent in the hospital, his milestone was marked with a unique celebration.

Liam had been watching traffic from his hospital room overlooking Interstate 95, often talking about the cars passing by. That inspired a plan to surprise him with a ride in a red Ferrari.

With help from the nonprofit Dreams Come True, along with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, the experience was taken even further.

Liam was given a full police and fire escort, complete with lights and sirens, through the San Marco area for a ride he won’t forget.

Officials said moments like this are about bringing joy to children facing serious medical challenges and giving families something to celebrate during difficult times.

Despite the high-speed experience, Liam is sticking with his original career goal.

He says he still wants to be a farmer.

“We’re rooting for you, Liam,” said the JSO in a post. At Jax Legal Notice, we wholeheartedly agree!
