Man Arrested in Deadly Shooting at Tallahassee Sports Bar

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this month at a Tallahassee bar, according to the Tallahassee Police Department.

Police said officers responded around 1:30 a.m. April 5, 2026, to Zingales Sports Bar at the 1100 block of Apalachee Parkway after receiving reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Life-saving measures were initiated before the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

Detectives with TPD’s Violent Crimes Unit determined the shooting stemmed from a fight inside the business. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly produced a firearm and shot the victim multiple times before fleeing.

Investigators used witness statements and evidence collected at the scene to identify the suspect as 23-year-old Lavarion Benjamin Williams and locate the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting.

On April 24, Williams was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police said the arrest reflects the department’s continued efforts to hold those responsible for violent crimes accountable.
