Dixie County Man Sentenced to 20 Years in State Prison for Sexual Battery and Incest

CROSS CITY, FL — A Dixie County man has been ordered to spend the next two decades in state prison following a felony sentencing hearing on severe familial abuse charges.

Leon Anthony Davis was officially sentenced on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, to 20 years in the Florida Department of Corrections. The decades-long prison term follows a prior arrest by the Dixie County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) on explicit charges of Sexual Battery and Incest.

Collaborative Probe Secures Conviction

The prison sentence is the direct outcome of a comprehensive, multi-agency investigation triggered by local reports of domestic sexual abuse. DCSO specialized investigators worked in lockstep with regional forensic interviewers, victim advocacy groups, and state prosecutors to construct a legally ironclad case.

By leveraging physical evidence and specialized victim statements, investigators successfully mapped out the timeline of the abuse, leading to a definitive conviction in the local circuit court. Due to the sensitive nature of the incest indictment and the protection of the victim’s identity, authorities have withheld further specific details regarding the age of the victim or the specific mechanics of the assaults.

Sheriff Reaffirms Focus on Severe Domestic Abuse

Following the formal sentencing, Dixie County Sheriff Darby Butler commended the exhaustive efforts of his investigative division and praised the courage of the survivor:

“Protecting victims and holding offenders accountable remains one of our highest priorities. Crimes of this nature have a devastating impact on victims and families, and we are committed to working alongside our law enforcement and prosecutorial partners to ensure those responsible face the consequences of their actions. We appreciate the dedication of everyone involved in bringing this case to a successful conclusion.”

Department officials extended formal credit to the State Attorney’s Office for their aggressive prosecution of the case, as well as the specialized victim advocates who provided continuous crisis support throughout the traumatic judicial process.

Davis has been remanded to the custody of transport deputies and is currently being processed for permanent transfer to a Florida Department of Corrections maximum-security reception center to begin serving his 20-year term.
