YULEE, Fla. – A 20-year-old man wanted for probation violations was arrested by the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit after investigators learned he had repeatedly traveled to Georgia and was allegedly posting photos of himself with firearms despite being prohibited from possessing them.
Kennari Satrell Brown was taken into custody July 28 after deputies located his vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
The Florida Department of Corrections Probation and Parole recently recognized the Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit for its work locating and apprehending Brown.
The case began July 27 when probation officers contacted the unit about violations involving Brown, who was supposed to be living at his Yulee residence.
According to probation officers, Brown had traveled outside Nassau County and Florida multiple times since February and had received traffic citations in Kingsland, Georgia.
Brown was prohibited from possessing firearms, but investigators discovered social media posts that appeared to show him holding firearms and pointing them toward the camera, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies also received information that Brown could be connected to ongoing robbery investigations in Georgia.
Based on the probation violations, firearm information and possible connection to the Georgia cases, Fugitive Apprehension Unit deputies began searching for Brown.
The following day, deputies found Brown’s vehicle and stopped it.
Brown was taken into custody, and deputies recovered two firearms from the vehicle along with a Rolex watch and jewelry believed to have been stolen, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
“Our Fugitive Apprehension Unit works closely with law enforcement agencies throughout the region to locate individuals who are wanted and hold them accountable,” Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper said. “When we work together and share information, we can locate potentially dangerous individuals and help keep our communities safe, regardless of county or state lines.”
Brown was booked into the Nassau County Jail and Detention Center on charges related to his probation violation.
Authorities did not identify the Georgia robbery cases Brown is suspected of being connected to or say whether additional charges are expected in connection with the firearms or suspected stolen property.
