JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two people, including a 17-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man, were killed and 11 others were injured in two unrelated shootings at Halloween parties early Sunday morning, November 1, 2026, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The shootings occurred about two hours apart, one outside a Halloween party in the Regency area and another at a house party on West 5th Street. Investigators said both incidents began with fights that escalated into gunfire.

The victims ranged from teenagers to young adults, with one surviving victim suffering life-threatening injuries.

17-Year-Old Girl Killed Outside Halloween Party on Arlington Expressway

The first shooting occurred around 1:45 a.m. in the 6200 block of Arlington Expressway in Jacksonville’s Regency area.

District 2 patrol officers responding to reports of gunfire found a 17-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound. She died from her injuries.

Officers also located another gunshot victim, who was transported to a hospital by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department personnel. A third victim went to a hospital independently for treatment.

Both surviving victims are expected to recover.

According to investigators, a crowd had gathered outside a Halloween party and was waiting in line to enter when a fight broke out.

The confrontation escalated into gunfire, striking three people who investigators said were not involved in the altercation.

Police believe at least two young men wearing dark clothing were responsible for the shooting. The suspects were described as Black males.

20-Year-Old Man Killed, Nine Others Shot at West 5th Street House Party

About two hours later, at approximately 3:50 a.m., District 1 patrol officers responded to a shooting at a residence on West 5th Street.

Officers found a 20-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital, where he died.

Investigators subsequently learned that nine additional gunshot victims had transported themselves to area hospitals, bringing the total number of people shot at the house party to 10.

The nine surviving victims ranged in age from 15 to 25.

One of those victims sustained life-threatening injuries, while the other eight suffered injuries that police described as non-life-threatening.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, a fight erupted during the house party and led to two separate instances of gunfire.

Investigators have not released descriptions of any suspects in the West 5th Street shooting.
