Suspects Break Into Elementary School in Polk County, Steal Food and Cause Damage

Five unknown suspects broke into Bella Citta Elementary School in Polk County on the night of November 28, 2024. The suspects initially attempted to enter the school through several locked doors but were unsuccessful. They then accessed the back courtyard via a gate and entered through the cafeteria.

Once inside, the suspects removed the trim from the cafeteria door to break the locking mechanism. They stole food from the refrigerators, leaving the doors open, which led to damage to the remaining food items due to improper refrigeration. The estimated damage includes $200 to the door and $500 to the refrigerators and food supply.
