Eighth Arrest Made in Murder of 14-Year-Old in Jacksonville

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has made the eighth and final arrest in the murder of 14-year-old Micah Thomas, who was found dead inside a home in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood on January 1, 2024.

On March 26, 2025, 24-year-old Emanuel Cuff was arrested and charged with murder and armed robbery in connection to the case. Cuff was already in federal custody on unrelated charges and has now been transferred to the Duval County Jail.

The Medical Examiner ruled Thomas’s death a homicide, leading to an extensive investigation that resulted in eight arrests. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office stated that they remain committed to seeking justice for victims of violence, especially children and teenagers.
