The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Jeremy Eugene Darity, 41, on charges of attempted murder following a stabbing incident that left three people wounded Wednesday night.
Deputies were called to a residence on Duck Lake Drive in Nassau County around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, they discovered three victims.
According to witness statements, a verbal altercation escalated into a physical attack in the driveway of the residence, where the suspect physically assaulted a victim. A second victim, upon becoming aware of the altercation, confronted Darity, leading to a fight during which the second victim was stabbed multiple times. The first and a third victim sustained minor injuries while attempting to break up the altercation and were also stabbed by the suspect’s knife. All individuals involved are known to each other.
One of the victims, who sustained serious injuries, was driven to a local hospital by a witness before deputies arrived.
Based on the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office’s investigation, this was an isolated incident.
Darity is currently being held at the Nassau County Jail and Detention Facility on a bond exceeding $600,000. Jail records indicate his charges include Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon (two counts) and Attempts, Solicitation and Conspiracy (Murder Dangerous Depraved Without Premeditation).
