Florida Man Faces 16 Counts of Child Sexual Abuse Material Possession

ALTHA, FL – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has arrested Joshua Wagner, 44, of Altha (in Florida’s panhandle), on 16 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device. The arrest is part of a statewide initiative to target and apprehend individuals who share files depicting the sexual abuse of children.

The investigation began in October 2024 after the FDLE received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tip identified a messaging app user in possession of digital files depicting child sexual abuse, and the user was later identified as Wagner.

On July 31, FDLE agents, with assistance from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), executed a search warrant at Wagner’s residence. Multiple electronic devices were seized, and a forensic analysis confirmed they contained several files depicting the sexual abuse of children.

Wagner was arrested and transported to the Calhoun County Jail. The State Attorney’s Office for the 14th Judicial Circuit is prosecuting the case, and the investigation remains active.
