ST. JOHNS COUNTY, FL – Devin James Platt, 18, has been arrested by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJSO) SWAT team and charged with multiple felonies, including Traveling to Meet a Minor for Sex and Lewd or Lascivious Battery.
The arrest on August 5 followed an investigation by the Special Victims Unit, which began after a 13-year-old victim disclosed she was sexually assaulted by Platt after being provided with alcohol and narcotics.
Platt, who is described as 6’7″ and 248lbs, traveled to a pre-arranged location where he believed he was meeting the victim but was instead met by members of the SJSO SWAT team and taken into custody.
His full list of charges includes:
- Traveling to Meet a Minor for Sex
- Lewd or Lascivious Battery
- Solicitation of a Minor
- Production of Child Sexual Abuse Material
- Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material
